Finally sat through it all. Would have been fantastic if it was a 2 hour movie

I had to force myself to sit through this entire first season. The story got so much better at the end. The story itself and the twist in plot was actually very good. The problem is the long stretches of boring nothingness in between the plot advancement.

If this story would have been told in a 2 hour movie format, I bet it would have been fantastic.

The more CRM stuff, the better. That is what has kept me watching. The very idea that there was an overarching nemesis over The Walking Dead for the last 11 years is hella intriguing and the very first Season 1 helicopter that Rick saw in Atlanta meant something, and I want more of that.

Ever since Jim Carrey junkyard Jadis hopped onto that satellite phone and contacted her handlers, I’ve been re-engaged for some more TWD and the Rick Grimes movies better be loaded with CRM stuff and finally a true sequel to Season 1’s TS-19 CDC episode, as in: finally getting answers to what caused the outbreak and how 11 million Los Angelinos vanished in FEAR the Walking Dead between episodes 3 and 4.

There's a lot to unpack here, but the concept certainly brings a whole new perspective. It is reminiscent of so many of the early conversations about how is it possible that no organization survived at all.

We know that Kirkman has already said that he believes TS-19 was a mistake and that he'll never pursue an explanation about what caused it.

FEAR is a whole other topic. I was so disappointed and stopped watching in Season 4. "9 days later" completely skipping the premise of the show altogether was a complete cop out. And yes, where the hell did those 11 million people go?

I'm surprised that I enjoyed this show since my expectations were very low. I liked the characters, friendships, storylines, suspense and action. Character-driven shows appeal to me which is the reason I started watching Walking Dead in the first place.

I hope we see these characters in some of the new spin-offs.
