retread of "The Killing"

The troubled female detective...but the biggest problem I have with this show.....
I like a good murder mystry but this is so depressing,,the town is all the charcters are. I think a good thriller needs a little comic relief, this show has none. Just like in The Killing we will be fed 1 red herring after another untill the real killer is discovered and it will proberly be a let down.
After 2 shows I'm done.

Perhaps the reason why it's so DEPRESSING (as you put it) is because the MAIN CHARACTER is going to try to KILL HERSELF by Ep. 5 (when a couple of reviews say something happens that made them GASP).

Because from the start of the story she's been treated just as badly as the other now DEAD GIRL was treated by the father of her child, by his girlfriend who beats her up, and by her own father who was also ABUSIVE to her.

That's why I also suspect the HOMICIDE may have been a SUICIDE, or at least an accident where she SIPPED and FELL and hit her head on a ROCK.

And if Erin did jump to her death, and if Mare also tries to take her own life, then we'll also have a PARALLEL situation where the other people in their lives are helping to shove them in that kind of a direction.

In Mare's case it's the SECRECY or the way that her family keeps HIDING things from her (such as the wedding plans of her former husband, the CUSTODY battle for her grandson, and her daughter not telling her that she tried to help ERIN the night she died).

PLUS when MARE saw the doctor who treats her grandson they also tried to get her to see someone and get some help due to the DEATH of her SON who also KILLED himself.

So that doctor also recognized how MARE needed the kind of help that she refused to even consider getting for herself.

And that also explains why the story is DEPRESSING, because it's probably leading up to MARE being so DEPRESSED that at some point that she decides that she doesn't want to feel that way anymore.

But of course you'll also never know that now that you also say YOU'RE DONE watching it.

Since someone said the KILLER is revealed in the last eppy of S2, I tried reading about it at the wikipedia link but it's still confusing:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_I_Know

The car rolls into the lake and slowly submerges as Rosie screams.

Crying, Terry insists to the Larsens that she did not know that it was Rosie in the trunk. Holder restrains Stan as he lunges at Terry. Linden arrests Terry. At the station, Holder tells Linden that Terry declined a lawyer. He gives Linden her badge, which Lt. Carlson reinstated, and they are handed Rosie's film after it has been verified as a "school project". She watches the film on a projector.

Gwen arrives at the office to see Richmond preparing for a meeting. Ames and Chief Jackson arrive and shake hands with Richmond, and Jackson thanks Richmond for his help in getting the charges dropped. Richmond closes the door on Gwen.

The Larsen boys wake their parents after finding a video in the mail. Together they watch Rosie's film, called "What I Know," in which she expresses her dreams of traveling and love for her family. Outside, the detectives sit in a car. Holder gets a phone call that a dead body has been found near the Sea-Tac airport. Linden gets out of the car. Holder insists they got the "bad guy". She asks laconically who that was. He drives off, leaving her behind to stare at the Larsen garage, then she walks away.
