Is this Disney’s LOTR/GOT?

It seems like every major streaming platform is wanting to debut their own big budget fantasy epic. HBO has Game of Thrones and House of Dragon, Amazon has Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power and Netflix has Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. I think Disney is setting this up to be their high fantasy epic IP. I dont think Hulu has anything since they are owned by Disney anyway. Does Apple want to be a serious player also?

Willow is the celtic version of Lord of the Rings. George Lucas asked the germanic people who owned the LOTR for the rights to make the LOTR movie but they said no. Lucas instead wrote his own version of LOTR which is the original movie "Willow". In the movie Willow, Lucas wrote all the good characters as being ethnic celtic people and the evil side as being germanic people and this made it so no copyright infringement happened.

"Willow is my favorite movie and I cannot believe that anyone prefers the LOTR movies over Willow."

OMG, someone likes "Willow"! Isn't that nice, one person likes it more than LOTR.

I suppose it is, I think the flurry of medieval fantasy shows we're seeing now is because of the massive success of Game Of Thrones.

I don't expect anything to match the level of success and story-telling that Thrones achieved though. It was just a rare thing to see something that good. Sure, the ending was not the greatest but everything else was top-notch. House Of The Dragon, the prequel to Game Of Thrones, is off to a pretty good start though.

Willow looks like it could be fun. Not sure if I'll watch it though... looks to be more for kids.
