Isn't Deb a bad mom?

The dad is obviously a terrible parent, but isn't a mom also a bad parent? She kicked her out at a young age, until she stops taking drugs and stay clear... but no one parent should do that to child, I guess?

The story(fact or fiction?) didn’t dwell too much on what happened in the past, but she did steal or pawn lots of valuables from her mom.

Most psychiatrists would say the daughter has to learn from her own mistakes than blame it on someone else(or lack of support). So in this case, the real dad had an point

I got the sense that she had been kicked out multiple times and this has been going on for 10 years. Deb had taken her to detox what 14 times? So when we are introduced it seems it was supposed to be the final straw, can't let her back in, which she does anyway. We learn that the last time she was at the house was a year and a half ago. The film doesn't let us know when she was first kicked out or how long she stayed in previous encounters over those 10 years. At some point she had to try and cut her off because she was not getting better. I don't think Deb was a bad parent, she was at the end of her rope emotionally and after a decade of trying to get her daughter help was exhausted of options.

She is a good mum for sure but no one help you if you are a full on druggie.
The daughter stole her money, her things.. she had to throw her out.
