They certainly beat Netflix to the punch on their first try!

Apple has produced some pretty good quality stuff. The thing thing I saw from them was "For All Mankind" which was really unique in its alternative universe Space Program, and had a lot to say about things in an indirect way. Very creative.

Then there was "The Morning Show" which was also very well done, and Station 11, and Foundation.

That is quite a debut.

Ted Lasso is their best.

In your opinion.

I got the AppleTV app recently and just started watching For All Mankind, the first season was excellent. 2nd season is pretty much crap... I'm only on the 5th episode and I might just stop watching it at this point. It's not getting any better... the only interesting part, or should I say, amusing part is watching Gordo freak out over various things. lol...

For the most part, season 2 has just become a TV drama series, the sci-fi elements have taken a huge back seat.

Morning Show, Foundation, looks pretty good but it looks like you gotta pay extra to watch Station 19.

And Ted Lasso is just too silly to hold my interest. I watched 2 episodes... it was alright. Maybe it gets better, idk

Season two or For All Mankind didn't freak me out a bit, it was in line with the rest of the show. Very clever writing, and well done effects.

Oh ... I have it wrong, Station 11 is HBOmax, not Apple.

I forgot about Ted Lasso, I thought it was great fun, and I pretty much detest Jason Sudakis.

Season 2 is clever writing? lol...

So far, it's been quite boring. What happened to the space race?? It's been nothing but drama scenes and that's about it. It's been crap.

Season 1 had it's fair share of everything, drama, space travel, moon landings, unique story lines, feel good moments and not so feel good moments and more.

Season 2 is pathetic in comparison. On top of this, they throw in a racist angle to make NASA look like they discriminate. LOL!! shitty writing..

At least the Gordo scenes have been kind of funny. That one episode where his kids find him in the closet with a space suit on was quite funny and when they find him at the bottom of the pool breathing through a scuba tank and staring at the moon was also funny. Those scenes were amusing. Sad thing is, that's the only part that's been interesting. The rest of it has been quite cliche and not as impressive as season 1.

Really? Grow up, what an f-tard.

reply

lol... I thought you considered TV and films to be a waste of time anyways.

If you liked it, that's fine. I just can't figure out why they basically abandoned the space race and pretty much turned this into daytime TV and not very interesting daytime TV on top of that. But whatever, different strokes for different folks. Season one was fun while it lasted, it was a wild ride.

I did go ahead and watch episodes 1-6 of S2. It's just soap opera stuff now. I just can't watch it anymore... I did kind of like the suspense created between the Russian team and the American team in ep6, that has probably been the best part of season 2 so far, along with Gordo and his craziness. Beyond this, it's just not nearly as compelling as season 1.

reply

Yeah plus they're getting major talent like Scorsese and Scott.
