Are people aware of the future race requirements for best picture?

Nothing to do with quality movies after next year, just needs to check the woke boxes. I kid you not, the best movie ever can't be nominated unless it has a minorities be the focus. It also needs the crew to be minority focused. Lol, well done libs, you've ruined movies.
Here are the rules:

1. At least one “lead or significant supporting actor” from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group. Or ...
At least 30 percent of a cast in secondary and minor roles from two underrepresented identity groups. Or ...
A main storyline or subject that centers on an underrepresented identity group.

2. At least two heads of major departments (such as editing, director, makeup and hairstyling, costuming, or sound, as well as many others) must be from an underrepresented identity group. Additionally, a minimum of one of these must be from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group. Or ...
At least six people on the crew (excluding production assistants, generally the entry-level position on set) are from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group. Or ...
At least 30 percent of the crew are from an underrepresented identity group.

i'd heard about these rules, but i hadn't heard the specifics. they're as stupid and insulting as i would have expected.

idiotic pandering nonsense.

reply

It is literally the definition of prejudice, but those liberals can't see it.

reply

Well looks like I'll be bit torrenting everything and not spending a cent on rentals/theater tickets.

reply

I can't blame you.

reply

How far are they going to take this shit? People were already fed up with it a long time ago.

reply

Apparently creativity doesn't matter just more racism.

reply

And, isn't forcing rules based purely on someone's skin color a form of racism?

reply

Yeah that’s point I’m making. Hollywood being racist by valuing “diversity” and “inclusion” more than telling a good story.

reply

It's a shame that these criteria are considered a stretch to some people

I'm a bit worried about it. I usually like the action/sci-fi movies that have a slim chance of getting nominated for best picture. I might have to start watching foreign films. I just wonder if they are making decisions based on social media since social media does not represent reality. I might have to watch old shows and movies instead of the new woke crap. I'm glad I was able to see all the superhero movies and shows before Disney phucked them all up with their diversity, equity and inclusion.

Pure minority privilege. If this was done for any other group like Whites, Jews or Asians, it would be crucified as racism and privilege.

reply

Whats the problem? This country is about inclusiveness. And you wonder why republicans won't win any presidential election anytime soon

reply

The problem? The criteria for giving awards to movies has shifted from artistic quality to race, ethnicity, gender, imaginary gender, etc. If you can't understand how wrong and just plain stupid that is, you're probably proud to call yourself woke

reply

But now every movie made will be represented in some way with minorities, including behind the scenes. No one will make a movie without these factors anymore. As a white person, this will take away some of my white guilt that I was born with
