So despite all the gore...

They still pussy out on showing Michael kill kids.
Not big surprise, but still

The personification of pure evil doesn't think it's good sport to kill kids. Really?

reply

[deleted]

That doesn't fit how literally everyone describes him.

We've seen that even dogs aren't off the table so I doubt it.

reply

No one wants to see kids getting stabbed to death, it's too much.

reply

But teenagers, you just love seeing them brutalized huh?

reply

Not really. Slasher films bore me a little.

Watching a 10 year old getting killed is different to watching an adult playing a teenager getting killed.

reply

idk i was watching the toxic avenger and they bad guys in that film run over a kids head. i found it very refreshing and funny to see a kid get killed in a movie. was very unexpected

reply

He killed a kid in the 2018 one didn't he.At the bus crash in the pick up.

Why do you need to see kids die so badly?

reply

Because that would say something about the character of Michael Myers. Is he pure evil or not.
And kids/animals dying typically makes more of an impact.

reply

The character has been killing people in cold blood for like 46 years and you're uncertain if he's evil or not?

reply

Child murderers are on a different level. People tend to remember kids being killed in movies, as it's still quite rare. The Blob and Mimic comes to mind.

reply

What do you think horror means?
I hate how we've one to think that horror movie kills should be enjoyable and "fun"

reply

Answering a question with a question, eh?

reply

Yea

reply

It's escapeism for normal people who wouldn't even think about killing someone. Is that controversial?

reply

The closest we got was him Stabbing Jamie Lloyd in 5 offscreen

reply

He killed the dance kid in the first "reboot" sequel.

reply

Because they are setting Michael up to turn into a hero in the next film

reply

Coincidentally, John Carpenter kills off a little girl in Assault on Precint 13. That was quite the shocker. I think we take violence in media far enough without killing off kids. Also, he did kill the tricker or treater kid off screen.

reply

Oh yeah. Forgot about that. Well, that gratuitous death just makes it even sillier they won't show "the embodiment of pure evil" killing a kid
