Just chop his damn head off.

When I saw the original Halloween (back in the 70s), it was amazing because it was new and fresh. When Michael was shot and went over the railing, the entire audience was thinking, "Well, that's the end of that." But then the shocker came, showing the empty ground. My friends and I talked about it for weeks.

Fast-forward forty-some years, and the audience is no longer thinking, "That's the end of that." They've seen it before. What they're thinking is, "Chop his damn head off!" or, "Bash his head with the baseball bat until it's mush!" What makes it worse is these characters in the film who've been chasing Michael all evening are aware of Michael's resurrections. They know he doesn't die easily. You would think that at least one of them would step forward and say we're not done yet.

I used to be a fan of the series, but it's getting ridiculous.

reply

Well in reality people would assume he was dead because there are no examples of people taking on that kind of damage and surviving, and there are also no known supernatural beings. From a moviegoers perspective it is obvious they should chop off his head.

reply

The folks after him were aware of his evil, and Laurie's own son and daughter were part of the mob. Surely their mother would have told them the stories about how Michael always gets back up when people think he's dead. So no, they shouldn't have assumed he was dead.

reply

Anyone justifying the characters' stupidity is stupid itself. They will probably behave the same way and will get stabbed by Michael

reply

This movie timeline he hadn't had a bunch of "resurrections"...and who is this son of Laurie's you speak of?

reply

Even Ghandi might have assured himself that the SOB is REALLY dead :-)

reply

The guy kept returning and killing people for 40 years. No they would not assume he was dead.

reply

Ok.. well in this film Halloween 2-resurrection did not happen, he was caught like a normal living person and locked up for 40 years, then he went on a spree when he got out in 2018, but the public does not know about the damage he took that night.

reply

Yeah. This was so infuriating. They have him laying on the ground and no one strolls on over from the crowd and blasts a 12 gauge point blank into his head until all that's left is a bloody stump where his neck used to be.

reply

Didn't he get his head chopped off in H20?

reply

Nope. He pulled the old switcharoo with an EMT. So crafty!

reply

The original post was talking about how the audience doesn't understand why the characters don't try and chop off his head. My point is they have before.

reply

Just chop off his arms and feet and let him worm his way around Haddonfield forever. He'd make a great tourist attraction like that. You know, give back to the community after all those killings.

reply

Now I'm imagining Michael in the Oblongs. Thanks for the imagery.

reply

Nah, he would just sit up and put it back on.

reply

Then it's time to get out the wood chipper.

reply

Nah, he would just ooze back together like the T-1000 from Terminator 2.

reply

Now that would be a movie worth watching.

reply

When they all started getting into melee range and only attacked one at a time, then I was all for dude massacreing everyone lol

reply

Agreed, it's too easy and obvious. With someone like him you can't be like "Oh there's only a one in a million chance someone could survive that," and then leave it. Because that's how he survives. He needs to be battered to a pulp, beheaded and dismembered, burned, and scatter his ashes around the globe.

reply

They need to chop off his arms and legs, make minced meat patties and grill them. Then they should feed him with the hamburgers to see if his arms and legs grow back up.

reply

Yup. Chop up his head, burn all his body parts and head into ashes... I doubt then that his ashes would re-combine back into a human body.
