First, what did I miss? Second, seriously??? (Spoilers)

I must have missed something, because I can't reconcile how Clark Richards is normal. It seems clear Babcock infected him to save his life, yet he stayed human. He didn't have access to the cure, so how is this possible?

As for my second issue, did the nukes also happen in the book, and if so, the same way? Whoever wrote that storyline is clearly a brain dead juvenile, who has no clue how the world works. Viral epidemic or not, no country is going to bomb the US with nuclear missiles. They'd simply be bombing themselves since retaliation would be instant. It's childish to believe the government would simply sit and take it. Right or wrong, the US handles its own affairs with no interference or assistance from any other country. As long as enough capable humans were left, each country that bombed the US would be obliterated. And rightly so. It would have been more believable if they bombed themselves. A more believable nuclear event should have been imagined, though I think the nuclear angle was moronic no matter how it happened.

I was confused how he was turned without gaining any vampire traits. I mean, does he need blood to live also? I thought maybe, instead of her biting him, she gave him her blood, so his body is linked with hers through a shared virus of sorts. I actually don't know. Maybe, the writers don't either hence why it wasn't explained.

Well she told him "everyone gets one, You'll still be you". I assume the one person each viral can choose gets to remain themselves as a companion/helper of the viral, now as for if he needs blood to survive i dunno, she could have bit him or gave him her blood, maybe when the viral can choose their one they turn them in some kind of different way.

I'm sure we'll get more answers on how the one person a viral can pick to be theirs in S2.
