I thought she buzzed her hair during present time, or was that during a flashback?

Good point. I'm pretty sure it was a flashback but everyone looked the same, yet her hair had what I'd think would be at least 1-2 years' worth of growth (correct me if I'm wrong on this as I'm not so great with knowing hair lengths).

I think they might have gotten that timeline a bit screwed up, I think I remember Kate having cancer as an early teen, that's when she's crying because she's "ugly" and people stare at her for being bald, and her mother shaves her head. Years later she's in remission and has all her hair back, and then she tells Taylor she's not in remission anymore and the cancer's back, and loses all her hair again. The only complaint I have is that Anna should have been much younger, but she looked the same age throughout the entire movie (except when she was like 3 and they flash back to her screaming as a kid who is about to get bone marrow extracted). If she were like 20 to 25 I would've been ok with it, but I think most changes in appearance happen from infant until 20 years old, so they failed at making her and Jesse look younger.

I think she was just sick throughout her entire life, hence the medical history for Anna being that she donated bone marrow and other things for her sister several times.
