For two reasons!
1) if it were actually good, the honest positive reviews would drown out the bad
2) if a restaurant's TrustPilot page was full of people talking about being given rotten food or completely wrong orders, it wouldn't be the diners who were blamed.
Very true. It's Hollyweird telling customers what they aught to want instead of giving fans what they want. It's not a sustainable model for any other business but the entertainment business.

The amount of people that will simply put a bad score for the sake of review bombing are only a small fraction of the total votes.
I don't pay much attention to 1,2,9 or 10 star reviews, if I consider user reviews its usually the ones in the middle that are a closer reflection of what the movie/show may be.
