Well, it's definately not something original, but I, for one, trust James Gunn's ability to make movies. The "Dawn of the Dead" remake had a great script, and "Slither" is one of my favorite movies! He usually takes his ideas from existing sources and put his own spin on them. So, the fact that this movie does sound like "Unknown" and "Saw" doesn't worry me in the least.
