Egerton was great.

I thought he took a very risky approach through that contortion of his face to look like real-life Eddie but it paid off really well. He nailed it and was so effortlessly likable, I see great promise in his future.

Indeed, there were points where I wondered if he had undergone facial surgery. Nope, all him.

My gut feeling after watching Kingsman and considering him the best part of the movie just continues to be proven correct every time I see him, the guy is fantastic.

Give it a few years and he'll be up there with the greats.

I agree with everyone in this thread, he was a very pleasant surprise in Kingsman and to be perfectly honest I would not have watched this film if it was not for him. He totally delivered, and as you say, he is effortlessly likable.

I wondered, at the beginning, if the facial quirks - and general quirkiness - would be a bit overkill but I felt it was great, especially with Hugh grounding him a bit. It was a nice balance, and just a fun movie to be a part of, even if just as a spectator.

I know it wasn't him doing the stunts but it still hurt me seeing him "fall" and roll around in the snow like that. Whew!

Apparently Eddie was on set to help with the mannerisms etc. But brilliant performance, he not only nailed Eddie but gave this film all the heart. Funny and sweet.

It's too cerebral! We're trying to make a movie here, not a film!

I thought the same thing! His performance reminded me of Daniel Bruhll's portrayal of Formula One driver of Nicki Lauda from Rush

He's a good actor. Hope he doesn't go down the celeb route.
