Okay, but come on-- how ridiculous would that look in a movie? No one could pay attention for how hard they'd be laughing at the screen.

maybe but they already did something similar on screen with Kick-Ass https://goodwillsp.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/kickass3-lg.jpg

The comic, and films, are comedic, and on many levels a parody of super hero tropes. The costumes are part of that, as its meant to show a real world version of what we only see in comics.

What makes Marvel's films work so well is how they are able to make the fantastic seem real, and they know just when to dial back on the goofiness of the comics. No Way Home is one of the better examples of this. In a comic book it's always hero vs. villain, the the villains are very openly villains. In real life, it's never that way. Nearly no one thinks of themself as an evil person or a villain, and we all justify our behavior. No one would form a "Sinister Six" or a "Brotherhood of Evil Mutants." The villains in the film each had their own reasoning and justification for their behavior, and felt they were doing good.

Yes but Watchmen proved that what you call goofines of the comics can translate well into the movies

reply

NOT REALLY.

reply

No thanks, much prefer the movie costumes

reply

Electro just wore electrician working clothes , Green Goblin a purple hoodie and tracksuit , Dock Ock casual clothes and you call that costumes?

reply

They wore exactly the same costumes they were wearing 20 years ago, and you want to complain NOW? What about Doctor strange and Spiderman? What were they wearing?

reply

Strange and Spidey looked like the comics

reply

I agree with you, wickerman

reply

lmfao

the people who make these movies only care about money

Well that escalated quickly. It's like watching the legendary hurricane katrina clip with Kanye.

Hawkeye should wear this outfit instead of jogging clothes https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5615b168e4b03839a6422d7b/1631881242900-SAKGU5W7OH7CER0CJY6D/hawkeye1__span_d400.jpg

Anyway the context of these movies is superhero fantasy , you should be able to distinct superheroes and villains from regular people.

So let's make a movie where Ariel and Snow White are dressed like this https://geekspin.co/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/How-Disney-Princesses-and-other-fictional-characters-would-dress-in-real-life-featured-image-758x451.jpg

The problem is that no one would take him seriously. Hawkeye is a badass, not a guy running around in tights and a floppy mask. What works in a comic or cartoon geared for a 10-year-old makes no sense when translated to live action. It looks great in comic form, but ridiculous on a real human.

They better keep the white costume when they introduce the black Captain Marvel
