Who the hell is Lee Byung Hun?

The best known and maybe the best SK actor.

He has been in some Hollywood flicks, maybe the most famous being Terminator: Genysis.

NK movies: A bittersweet life, I saw the devil, JSA, The good the bad the weird and many others.

Mr Sunshine is an excellent show on Netflix with the guy as the protagonist.

I thought the old man's identity was the biggest surprise. I didn't see that coming. My hunch about the policeman's brother was correct. The recruiter for the game is also a big name in South Korea. I don't know enough about South Korean cinema to recognize the stars but I still want to see Parasite.

Recruiter has been in 2 Korean hits: Goblin and Train to Bussan (plus others that I haven't seen, lol).

Holly shit, the protagonist (456) is the main character in New World. I wouldn't have recognized him in a million years. SO different ... maybe not the physique but the way the characters feel between the two movies are worlds apart.

I thought the big reveal about the old man made the show special due to his reflections on money/happiness and the bet on the homeless man. To me, the bet on the homeless person showed that there was hope for humanity after seeing several episodes of ruthless brutality. The old man also answered a lot of questions about the origins and purpose of the game. I also thought the reveal showed that the old man and Gi-Hun were gganbu. The old man wanted to make sure his gganbu Gi-Hun enjoyed the money before he died.

I watched the dubbed version so some of the messages may have been lost in translation.
