The Korean police gun and ammo policy.

Is the policy really as the Frontman describes in the show? They have a six shot revolver, but one chamber must be empty and one must be a blank, leaving 4 shots? What purpose does that serve?

Also, when Frontman is counting the rounds he used, how did he know that cop didn't reload? Or is carrying additional rounds against policy too? It doesn't seem to make sense to me.

I'm not sure if that's the real policy but in all Korean movies I've seen guns are a big no no.

Gangsters with guns? Nope, baseball bats, knives and machetes.
And in other movies when a cop needs a gun he gets it from the armory and not so many bullets.

From quora:

"Korean police use 3.8-inch revolver pistols
However, the part with "firing hammer" has no bullets to prevent it from being fired in case of malfunction.
And the next foot puts blank bullets
So, in the end, the live ammunition that can be used for a 6-round cylinder is 4 rounds.
The reason the Korean police are loading bullets like this is...
First of all, it is forbidden to carry firearms in Korea.
Therefore, the police do not fire except in the case of a riot with a weapon.
However, there are accidents that occurred while operating the 3.8 pistol for a long time.
A police officer accidentally dropped the gun, and the "firing hammer" part hit the ground and the gun was fired.
So after this incident, Korean Police stopped loading the bullet in the "firing hammer" part.

And, putting the first shot as a blank bullet is when a warning shot is fired at a riotous criminal with a weapon...
Because bullets fall into the sky and then fall, and innocent civilians can be hit
Therefore, use blank bullets for warning fire, and live bullets if resistance occurs after warning."

Wow, that is amazing.

Interesting, given the Rust set shooting was apparently a misfire— according to Baldwin and injured director.

That's a good policy, if you live in a civilized country and does not have to fear to get shot by any next thug passing you. It is just most unlikely, that you come into a situation where you really need to use it. The first empty one is anyway easy to handle (and should be anyway default for any revolver), as long you are aware of it. In critical situations, the blank is a bigger issue, but if your aggressor isn't aware of the blank, the blank might be as effective.

And why was the frontman so sure, the police man doesnt have reloaded? As police men are shooting so seldom (paper works fun alone makes you prevent it), it is even more unlikely to bring extras with you. And it was clear that the policeman ended on the island unprepared.

AFAIK when they get the gun from the armory they get a fixed amount of bullets, a load. And that's all.

I might be wrong but I think I've seen it in several movies (so yeah, movies so definitively I could be wrong, lol)
