Help Netflix...stops at season 6

Anyone know where I can find last 3? Seasons? Tried Amazon. Please no trolls. This is a great family series and we don't have cable.
Thank you in advance.

Your best bet from a financial standpoint would be to see if you can borrow the DVDs from your local library. These would be the Canadian DVDs, since all the seasons from 1 to 8 have been released in Canada. So even though they'd be imports for you, your library really shouldn't have a problem ordering them.

Of course if you're in the mood to own them, buy from Amazon.ca, not Amazom.com. This is because you'll want the Canadian Amazon site. I hear the foreign exchange rate is very favourable right now.

It's not really that... Currently, Amazon.com does not have Seasons 7 & 8 in their official inventory. Amazon.com plays the middle-man for private sellers. While such an order is "fulfilled" by Amazon.com, you're still relying on the trustworthiness of a non-official seller to get you the product.

Amazon.ca, on the other hand, does officially sell Seasons 7 & 8.

But isn't it true that you would need a special dvd player to play the dvd? I was told ordering a dvd from a non-usa format required a dvd player that would play a dvd in a different format, like the discs are a different size or something from what I was told?

This is not true.

All of North America is the same disc encoding (NTSC).

You're perhaps thinking of the PAL format of Europe. Canada and the USA are the same when it comes to VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, laser disc, etc.

It's true that Canada and the US use the same encoding, but with commercial DVDs there's a special protection added. These are called region codes. It's a way for content producers to control which DVDs can be seen in which countries, the prices, the languages, the special features, when DVDs are released by region, etc.

Most DVD players you buy commercially can only play DVDs created for a given region. The region matches the general location where you bought the DVD player. For North America it's region 1. If you bought a commercial DVD in Asia (not a pirate disk), it wouldn't play on a DVD player bought in North America.

There are ways around the region code, for example, by using DVD backup programs which allow you to set all the region flags.

Blu-ray discs also have region codes.

reply

Ah! You're right. Thanks for making that further distinction here. (Region as opposed to format.)

US Netflix has only up to season 6 but Canada Nextflix has all of them, with the help of https://www.unblock-us.com you can have your internet connection transferred to Canada for $5 a month and watch the rest.

reply

I'm in the same situation. But I'm in Australia. I was so disappointed when I realised that it wasn't up to date.

reply

But does anyone know WHY Netflix is not up to date on the most current season? This seems weird for a TV show to be so far behind being added to Netflix.

Update:

The admin over on the official Heartland on CBC Facebook page had this response to someone asking about Netflix USA:

Now that there will be a primary broadcaster things have changed a bit on Netflix in the US. Season 7 goes up in September. Seasons 8 AND 9 go up next year.

It was just announced yesterday that a new broadcaster in the USA has been secured, though we haven't been given details yet.

There are link sites available - they don't have the show but have links to the show - like watchseries and primewire (if you use primewire download the safe, quick and easy program adblocker or you WILL be bombarded with ads you have to constantly close)

reply

Putlocker is a free streaming site where you can watch heartland season 1-9

I don't think these are illegal because a site that does not pay royalties is usually blocked with a notice of copyright infringement.

reply

What is illegal is the fact that those who do the actual uploading of episodes don't own the rights to the show, so they're not legally entitled to upload the episodes.
