Good but humorless film

The photography was great. Story good. But there was only one funny moment in the movie. It was weighed down too much because of no comedic moments. And there were plenty of opportunities. Keke palmer was at that great in this.

Interesting, I and others laughed quite a bit in the theater. Off the top of my head, most everything that Angel does/says is funny, I would say he's meant to be the comedic relief overall, and certainly the couple times any character says the titular line, particularly when OJ sees the kids in the alien costumes.

She was meant to be comedic relief I just didn’t feel like she delivered.

She?

Sorry you’re talking about the fryes guy. He didn’t do much for me although the idea of fryes still being in business was kinda funny. I was referring to the sister.

Just because you don't get/like certain humor doesn't mean it's "humorless".

reply

Lmao there is nothing to “get”. The so called humor in this film falls flat except the tmz scene.

reply

The so-called critiques of this film fall flat. xD

I thought there was humor, but I guess you didn't get it. There are different kinds of humor. This obviously wasn't for you.

reply

Just because a movie doesn't have humor doesn't mean it is "weighed down." Boneheaded post. Why don't you go watch something a little more your speed like Marvel

reply

I thought it had some good parts. The set up had me hooked but in the end it just fizzled. Didn't find anything funny at all. Peele started out of the gate good with Get out but since then i haven't been impressed.

reply

I finally got around to seeing it! Not bad, I liked it.

Lots of humorous moments, bug on the camera, the horse statue theft, pretty much everything Angel said, not to forget the TMZ motorbike guy - in mortal danger but his priority was his camera phone, he was clearly a caricature of paparazzi Jordan Peele has probably experienced, so perhaps it doesn't resonate with everyone. Slapstick? No it was dark humor but humor nonetheless. I think what Jordan did well was not to break the tension with inappropriately timed jokes, bravo for that.
