Will they ever make a black Christmas Carol?

Will Smith should be Scrooge and the ghosts of Xmas past, present and future show Scrooge what a colossal wh0re his wife is and Will spends the entire movie trying to keep men out of his wife's mouth.

Denzel Washington would be a better Scrooge.

I recognize you’re being facetious but a version of A Christmas Carol with a predominantly black cast was done in a 1986 TV movie called “John Grin’s Christmas” starring Robert Guillaume (right after the end of his Benson sitcom). This version placed the modern-day Scrooge in an American middle-class black community. There’s a MovieChat page on the movie with very few comments. But you can watch it at:

It’s well worth viewing because it’s a tight 50 minutes and it stars some of the most recognizable and popular black actors from the 1980s.

There’s also Ms. Scrooge with Cicely Tyson

Why is it always "we need a black this" and a "black that", but never "we need an Asian this" and an "Asian that"?

reply

An Asian "Christmas Carol" might be interesting. Maybe do it Kabuki.
