Nobody even knows who Madame Web is!

To think that at the same time, Sony cancelled a spinoff movie featuring Black Cat and Silver Sable. I’d argue more casual movie-goers at least heard of those characters.

She is a very minor character in comics. Old as hell, too. Not sure how this character would get a movie. She's about as obsure a character in the Marvel Universe as anyone could possibly be. Making her young and cute is not gonna do much.

I have yet to see the movie, but I hear nothing good about it.

What's especially weird is they have a Spider-Woman in the cast, or at least her civilian identity Julia Carpenter. Why not make her the lead and let Madame Web be a supporting character, like a mentor for the former once she gets her power? Not sure if that would make the movie better per se but it'd be more narratively coherent.

That move would make more sense. To give someone like Madam Web a movie is just incredible.
