Spoiler question
So Statham got called in to assist in one of his company's heists. But when it goes down, the heist is being committed by the military gang. So what connection was there? Is this a huge plot hole?

shareStatham group wasn't planing a heist that day. He was asked to do simple information gathering. But unfortunately, it happened the day the military group hit the money van.
shareYes, it isn't clear when you are watching it that robbery that killed his son was a completely different group. I know when I was watching it for a while I thought the group that worked for him was his because of the way the movie jumped around in time. By the time you are half way through you fully understand that it was two unrelated gangs of robbers that simply crossed paths but it wasn't clear in the beginning.
shareThat's exactly how it went for me too. I liked it though. For a moment I was lost but then everything fell into place. I thought it was a well done movie.
shareBullet was an insider that tipped off Statham's organization that they were planning a heist and needed a lookout.
Statham's organization would have cleaned the money for them once it was done.
Statham's organization didn't know who Bullet's crew were, nor who Bullet was. Just to provide assistance/lookout for the heist and they would get a cut of the cash cleaning process.
Unfortunately, they didn't inform the insider that Statham would be the new lookout on short notice, so it all went belly up when he parked right next to where they were going to perform the heist, and they thought he was just a civvie.
but ... then why did he tell them the opposite direction the truck took?
