When the Sons patched in Indian Hills Season 1 Episode 4

When the MC patched in Indian Hills there was a dust up with the Mayans. Jax kicked over their bikes outside of a bar, got their attention and led them back to the Indian Hills clubhouse. The Mayans sat outside on their bikes and began shooting through the clubhouse door. The MC was ready and most of them snuck out the back and around the sides to flank the Mayans and began shooting back at them.

The Mayans hit two guys, but the Sons didn't hit a single Mayan. There were a LOT of Sons shooting at a bunch of closely grouped stationary targets. They took a lot of shots and missed every time.

I don't know why the writers made them such lousy shots.

maybe when they stuffed that porn guy in the trunk and shot it up, they mostly missed...they never did go back open trunk and make sure he was all done, did they?

reply

ha, yeah the way they have them shooting sometimes.

The thing is, other times they make perfect head shots, center of forehead. But that is Hollywood writing.

Actually, look close, the Sons did hit a a couple Mayans, though they pretty much shook it off, although many bikers wear body armor, yes the Sons were lousy shots, considering all the Mayans were pretty much bunched together

Thanks, I missed that.

Actually when there are shootouts in real life it is not uncommon to read of cops firing 43 shots or something like that and getting like 1 hit. I guess a lot of that is to keep the other guys heads down. On two way shooting ranges it takes a cool head to take good aim.
But the Sons often quite easily make difficult shots very easily and naturally, like Chips casually hitting some guy in the knee, or other guys hitting forehead shots dead center. And when they shot up the Irish and the Chinese they had no trouble getting center of mass hits.

This time when the Sons came out around the sides they were unseen and had opportunity to make some good hits on the Mayans with their first shots before lead came flying back at them. That is why I found this scene a little bit unrealistic.

But I don't really fault the show for this. It is very common on TV shows for this kind of thing. You see guys who are expert shots at times and other times they shoot quite a lot and hit no one.
It's just the way TV shows do things.
