Rumor: Travis Fimmel from Vikings to play John Teller in First 9

There's speculation that Ragnar will die this season on Vikings. So the Mayans MC is a smokescreen. They will surprise everyone by announcing Fimmel, who looks a little like Hunnam, will portray John Teller in the prequel. That would be shocking.

I hear FX thinks the First 9 is a sure thing and the Mayans MC is a tougher sell. Think about it, you have a young Clay, Unser, John Teller and of course Gemma. That's TV gold. They want a sure thing after the disaster that was The Bastard Executioner.

It would be a disaster. That perpetually stupid expression on his face makes me want to slap him with a frying pan.
But Clive Standen, the one who played Ragnar's brother -- he would be a much better choice.

Young version of Clay will be very difficult to find.

Really? Maybe I've interpreted the boards wrong, but it seems to be a common opinion that the last few seasons of the show dragged on too long. I worry that a prequel will just be even more of that.

I think I would be more interested in seeing the Mayans MC show. At least with that you could have a lot more original content. First 9 would most likely be based around the stuff we already know with some minor surprises mixed in, but nothing too crazy that would change the timeline that SOA is based on.

Yes and no. Yes, it dragged on for too log and it felt like the writers team ran out of good ideas and came up with nonsense. S7 is obvious. However, it was still gripping, and fans stuck till the end, loved the characters and want more of them.
