Gemma's best season

Which was her best season? 2 was a great one for her character because of that horrible rape storyline, which was much meat to chew on for Katey Sagal, and that storyline gave Gemma much depth and made her sympathetic. Season 6 was a brilliant for Gemma, too, in my opinion.

Season 1 was her best, you actually saw her involvement with the community and with the club... not running it.

Plus, the entire season wasn't about Tara or Jax threatening to take the grandkid(s) away from her.

Season 4 may have been Gemma's best season.

Gemma had depth? She was a lying and manipulative woman who only thought about herself in the end, even if people thought she was really doing the things she did for her family. She was doing it for herself.

She played the same sly secretive old lady who did whatever she needed to as long as the ends justified the means.

Her best season was S7 when she got her brains blown out.

People are a bit harsh on Gemma. She had to deal with more crap in her life than any of the guys. She had a terrible childhood, her brother had died, her son had died, she got raped, her first husband was cheating, her second husband was violent, both served long prison sentences -- such a mess of a life really, no wonder she was like she was.

She's a no-nonsense, in-your-face, don't-screw-me-over kinda gal, who can be as tough as the guys. I respect women like that. Plus, she's hilarious. She's a remarkable character the writers had to have a fantastic time writing for. And she most certainly has depth, which we saw many times. I want to write a book about this series that centers around her. I think the book could turn out very well.

She most certainly had lots of depth. She definitely could be a conniving woman who had her moments of villainy, that's for sure. Those weren't the only moments we saw of her character, though. And season 7 was a great one for her, even though I think that for a different reason than you. For example, her talking to Tara and Bobby - even though they were dead - were some of the best moments in the show for me.
