surely this is a bogus rumor..I know many Hollywood movie-stars have backstepped into TV shows last few years, but, how could they -afford-- Pitt's cheque?

his fee would be more than the season budget each time..

This is a very old rumor, which turned out to be false a long time ago. It seems to be brought back up every few months. I would think it's extremely unlikely, at best.
