What went so wrong with Disney?

They really had a new golden age going in the 2010s and it peaked in 2016 when they released two of their best movies in the same year - Zootopia and Moana. And then it all went downhill. In only seven years they've gone form great movies pulling in billions to bland movies bombing at the box office. And you can't blame the pandemic, because it started before that with the underwhelming Ralph Breaks the Internet, and several of their recent bombs were being worked on before the outbreak. What the hell happened?

Bullshit. They decided to push diversity and female empowerment in every film and show in every franchise they own with the subtlety of a spike covered sledgehammer and it bit them on the ass because there isn’t an audience for that big enough to make money.

So not only did they not draw a so-called “modern audience” to the theaters, they also drove away the audiences they had before.

Disney even admitted it in a recent SEC report saying their content isn’t connecting with audiences, especially parents.

Easy, Bob Iger kept up the legacy of Eisner and stuffed the studio full of radical left-wing, gay activists and threw out all the people with actual talent. In fact, the start of Disney's more recent downfall coincides with getting rid of John Lasseter.

They're going through what every studio goes through;a nice high in terms of output and then a slow decline with hits and misses. They went through the same thing over 2 decades ago.
It's almost as though everyone forgot about 'Encanto' and 'Raya and the Last Dragon'. Both received ample acclaim and that was just a couple years ago.
On the Pixar end, they released Soul, Luca, and Turning Red which also earned praise. It seems that even 'Elemental' has found an audience through word of mouth and broke even at least. And that one was just this summer.
Sometimes, because no studio is perfect, some of their animated movies are just gonna bomb and since the latest examples (Strange World, Lightyear, and Wish) were all very expensive, they get a lot of media coverage and clickbait videos on Youtube.
