Eli has feelings for Oskar, confirmed by original author.

This isn't new news, but I recently had a conversation with someone who suggested this was ambiguous. And while it may have been in the films, the author's intent was clearly shown in the sequel novella 'Let the old dreams die" which shows Owen and Eli in a photo in 2008 with Owen not aged a day.

Of course, you can take the films how you want to, art allows that, but the original authors intent was they they had feelings for each other.

You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, Darling!

I think you meant Oskar, not Owen. Owen is from Let Me In.

Good post, uponapyre. But I didn't see the ambiguity about her feelings in Let the Right One In (film). Among so many other things, if she didn't have intense feelings for him, she would have shaken the dust off her sandals, hired another adult helper, and left Oskar to his fate at the hands of his sadistic bullies.

So to me, "Let the Old Dreams Die" did not need to confirm her feelings, only that they stayed together and under what conditions - Oskar turned or not turned. I've written some fairly long fan fictions about our little Vampire pals running around Sweden and having a grand time. Other fans have written tons more in that, er, vein.

She is imortal and eventually he will grow old . The guy who killed those people to get her blood was with her since he was a youngster the same fate awaits Oscar. Btw the book was pure brilliance.

This is only true in Let Me In.

Gyah. When I saw the film -- with no prompting from fans, just by accident -- there was no question in my mind that these were two kids running away together. Then I started reading every blog and review I could find.

OMG! What ambiguity? It's a freaking love story about two kids, not about an evil vampire who periodically recruits children to be her slave.
