One of the best horror movie ever made

This is one of the best horror movie that has ever made!!!1 There were so many terrifying moments from beginning to the end, I wasn't bored for even a single moment. A perfect horror movie should be made like this and on the other hand, there is Annabelle, which wasn't scaring at all!!!!!

This is truly one of the best horror movies EVER made. Loved it a lot in many reasons! 

There's something wrong with Esther.

Wasn't that scary at all. It was more like a thriller mystery than horror

this preposterous and predictable "horror" movie. 2/10

I wouldn't say it was the best Horror movie ever made but it is easily one of the best of the past decade and one of my favourites. The ending was really good and I am still surprised over how old Esther really was.

I loved it. Although, there's some clichés here and there, but it's easily overlooked. I thought Isabelle Fuhrmann should at least get a Golden Globe or even an Oscar nomination for her portrayal as Esther. Overall, an instant classic (IMO)! 9/10

I'd actually agree. When you check out 'Top 100 horror films of all time' lists this film here is leagues better than most that regularly feature.

It delivers in pretty much every facet;
- Great story and screenplay. One of the best twists in the genres history. (much better than Saws for example.)
- Fantastic acting pretty much across the board, particularly from Isabelle Fuhrman & Vera Farmiga.
- Plenty of tension. The pacing is great with the film ramping up perfectly. Not rushed in the slightest and not a slog to sit through.
- The cinematography is solid with the film having a nice cold, steely and snowy visual aesthetic.
- The production values as a whole are good. Quite a slick production.
