Liam exits the taxi to his death?

I was watching it with the missus and she talks, so missed that exchange.

Did Liam remember that he killed the girl (IF it wasn't his 'friend') or did Pearce tell him something that made him commit suicide by cop?

I watched it last night. The scene in question happens as follows:
Alex Lewis tells Vincent Serra that Davana Sealman sent "that man" (Dr Meyers) to kill him, "That [expletive] owns the whole game."
Vincent replies, "She doesn't own the FBI," but then the FBI snipers blow his tires out and Alex asks, "Are you sure about that?...Maybe they'll kill you, too. Just to b...b...bury this."
Now Alex starts to remember where he hid the flash drive recording of Ellis Van Camp's and Davana's conversation. He repeats to himself, "Bery. That's spelled B-E-R-Y."
Vincent tries to correct his spelling, but Alex is adamant, "Yes. Yes. Bery. B-E-R-Y."
As their exchange comes to an end Alex tells Vincent, "You said justice can't be guaranteed." Vincent sighs, "No."
Alex demands, "We owe it to that child, Vincent." He then drops his gun on Vincent's lap and exits the vehicle getting shot and killed by the FBI snipers.
Later when Vincent is removing the case photos off the board he sees a photo of Alex's family bakery he was hiding in with the sign missing the letters A and K (B--ERY) and realizes Alex actually remembered the hiding spot.

Re his suicide by cop Alex knew he didn't have long to live as he was told by Vincent in the hospital: "Even if you do make it to trial, you get life, my friend, from what the doctors tell me is maybe three to six months." So I basically interpreted it as Alex knowing this was as far as he could go being of use in enacting revenge or justice and left Vincent with the mandate to finish the job.
