A question about the flashback in Mother's Day episode

I don't get one part of this episode. In the flashback towards the end of the episode, the mom was in a girl band, but the manager says "sorry, we have a more interesting act now". We then see some crazy guy up on stage with what looks like blood over much of his body, who smashes a bottle over his head, and keeps saying "Kill the bo!" "Kill bo!". Any idea what the heck he's saying or what it's a reference to?

He's saying Kill the Pope.

It's not a reference to anything specific. I'd be surprised if it was anyway.
The stage manager says a more interesting act. Obviously, the expectation is another musical act but instead it's a bloody freak screaming Kill the Pope and the kids are simply dancing along.

If memory serves, the character resembled G.G. Allin. He was a punk singer who was known for his outrageous onstage antics. Violent and just crazy to say the least.
