Taraji Henson Criticizes Hollywood for Giving Smaller Budgets To Films Led By African American Actors

She talked about it in a radio interview, you can see the excerpt here: https://twitter.com/shanellegenai/status/1737529039995511262?t=9UQriYW3RH6r6ay5zyAGBA

The gist:
“Then they tell me we dont translate overseas. Im tired of hearing that my entire career, 20+ years in the game

And I hear the same thing. And I see what you do for another production but when it’s time for us—you dont have any money

They play in your face”

Her husband had to work with a lot less when he created the Muppets, I'm sure she can cope

For the most part, they don't. Most of the film's box office revenue will come from North America.

No matter how much is ever done to accommodate and promote blacks, they will always find something to bitch and blame about.

Some people see racism everywhere, all the time, in all things.

They need to get a life.

How big a budget does a film like this need? No CGI, very little SFX or stunts, few locations, etc. Or are they talking about the budget for paying the actors? You can solve that by agreeing to take a percentage of movie *profits*. I'm sure most studios would prefer that over paying money to actors for a film that might be a money loser, but I doubt Ms. Henson would put her money where her mouth is.

You know what motivates white folks and "Jews"? Money. If throwing more money at this (or any) movie would improve profits to the studio, they would do it.

I know a lot of white people liked the original movie Color Purple, but how many of them are going to see a remake if they already saw the original? Hell, I'm black and I'm not going to waste my time watching this film being remade any more than I would watching a remake of Mean Girls. I mean, what's the point? These are both recent movies that don't need a remake.
