Oprah wasn’t that big in the original film, are they just trying to be inclusive here? I just don’t see how this new actress is going to pull off dance scenes with such a large frame.

What was obese in 1985 is only slightly above average today. Oprah was probably 200 pounds in the 80's version. This woman is 100 pounds heavier.
