After the Credits....

So first of all....

I just finished watching this, and I want everyone to know I've fallen in love with Benjamin Bratt. LOL. I havent seen him in anything since Law and Order and I didn't care for him much there, but now I'm in love. Thats not what I wanted to say though.

I didn't feel like getting up ater the movie went off so I just sat and watched the credits roll. When the credits finished there was set of eyes on the screen -- closed (Erika Alexanders I'm sure because the skin was black), and then they opened suddenly and then the screen faded to black again!

What was that about?!?!?!

Since this was an artsy movie to begin with and her character was deep into Hinduism from what we saw, her opening her eyes at the very end of the film can mean several things. It could mean "an awakening" on the part of Che's character or "open your eyes" and accept things the way they are. The Native American dance at the ending and the rain were all symbolic if you didn't notice.

I didn't understand the open eyes either. I just thought she was seeing things NOW. I thought the rain was cleansing Che and making him new. He became "new" again. He even put the liquor on the altar of the dead boy giving it up. He was cleansed and sins washed away(I know some may disagree!). He then went home and talked to Erika's character and cleaned himself physically and became himself again. I just wasn't sure about the eyes at the end. I LOVED this movie though.
