A Mad Max Film about.. Mad Max.. finally..

Some proper super fans there. A little jelly. That's pretty much what the prequel comic was that came out with Fury Road. And part of what the Mad Max Wasteland is supposed to be if they ever make it.

Hmm.

Not gonna lie, it still looks far too steeped into the Furious Furiosa "Mad Max" nonsense for my taste, complete with Max hallucinating about random people when the core of his character was that he couldn't bring himself to care about anyone after the loss of his wife and son. Also, that monologue at the beginning was way too literal; you can trust your audience to put in at least some effort into understanding your story, you know?

Still, I gotta admit there's two things here that hadn't been seen in a so-called Mad Max movie since 1985: some actual goddamn grit as opposed to CGI and image filters to hell and back, and a character actually resembling Max Rockatansky who appears to be the actual protagonist of an actual story. At several moments it actually gave me glimpses of what a good modern Mad Max film could have been.

I still say The ROAD WARRIOR really is the Best and THUNDERDOME had potential until after the Dome match and the kids got involved and softened Max somewhat.. I did dig Tina Turner at the time calling Max a Raggedy Man

Good point, the actor looks much more like Max than Tom Hardy and his tiretrend lips did, but you can feel the DNA of Furiosa crap infesting this fan film anyway.

Apparently Mel Gibson made a really badass action movie in 2016 called "Blood Father". Too bad its not set in the Mad Max universe!

I have to say, I feel far more positive about this than I do about Furiosa.
