I heard it was going to be John Rambo versus John Wick.

I'd pay to see that!

Versus Robert McCall from Equalizer.

I am not sure no one asked, I remember there was some interest in a part 5 when 4 came out. It was Sly himself that seemed to close the book on a Rambo 5, and I guess he decided to reopen it again. It doesn't bother me because he makes older style action films which have a tendency to be more fun than some of the current crop were are getting. Will it be a great? Probably not, but it most likely will be fun to watch.

reply

I'll probably be a blast knowing Stallone but it's just not necessary, we need new action franchises because these guys are not going to be around forever and I don't want remakes re casted with new actors playing their roles. I want something new.

reply

I get that, I am just not sure we are in the right time for truly good hardcore action films from the younger set. Far to much focus on the optics and PC of a film, less focus on creativity and/or fun. I watch a lot of lower budget films and foreign stuff coming from Asian cinema so I still get some good action stuff today.

Do you like The Raid films?

reply

Yep sure do.

Making another one will just ruin the good ending of 4. Rambo finally got the war out of his system. He finally went home again. Now we're just gonna see him continue to struggle with his PTSD and for sure they're gonna kill him. That said, I think this movie is going to be very bad ass. This is actually a story I always wanted to see The Punisher tackle on screen, so this is pretty much the same thing. I'm pretty sure the success of Logan is what got this greenlit, and i'm expecting something of a rehash in that regard. I'd really rather not have this movie at all.

reply

This is not needed.....at all.

Why not? "Rambo" (2008) was as good as the first film in its own unique way and it left some loose ends as far as the protagonist goes. I don't know about anyone else, but I WANT to see what happens to him.

reply

well he was back in the usa at his farm at the end of 4 - perhaps now he can go on anther "First Blood" killing spree , but do it properly like in the original book

reply

I'd like to see him run into a cell of terrorists and take care of 'em. We don't need another movie where he's a misunderstood Vet taking on a town with a pompous axx sheriff.

reply

You're right, it is not needed as Rambo 4 left us with the character finally taking some steps to heal himself and attempt to move forward with his life. I like the idea of doing something a bit different or more story driven in V so hopefully it will be like that. At the same time, I'm sure they are going to kill him off in the end and I would prefer the more open-ended ending that we got in 4. That being said, I'll still go see it! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!

I would absolutely love to see Rambo (somehow) crossing paths with Teasle again. It would be interesting to see these two men, who hate each other, team up and fight off some bad guys. I’d love that.

reply

I need this. I need Rambo V

reply

Yeah, I always thought that last shot of him 'going home' as he walked away from the camera and down the road was a perfect end to the series. That scene nicely bookended the first movie where we also see him walking into town before things go sideways for him.

I'll catch the new one on VOD for the sake of curiousity. The Western look on Rambo seems goofy to me. That's Chuck Norris territory with Walker and Lone Wolf McQuade. I expect he'll be tying on the headband and busting out the bow and arrow soon into the new movie.

reply

I get a feeling you only see the cowboy stuff at the beginning and not the whole movie.....people need to chill out. It's just one still photo, it doesn't mean shit. Rambo does own a ranch so it makes sense actually.
