As a Brit who understands baseball, I loved it!

However, I didn't know any of the players, or the story of the 20 win streak. I understand the game of baseball, and I personally think I'd be great it (jk) but I wish I'd have known a bit more about the story. Like Brad Pitts character, is he an American household name?

I also only know 1 Art, and that's Shamscy? I'm assuming he wasn't the coach?

Very good movie, and it's basically what fantasy leagues do isn't it?
Good film, despite not knowing any of the characters in it.

It's far more than fantasy leaguers to be fair.

If you're in the UK, it's worth looking up the Brentford (and Midtjylland in Norway) owner Matthew Benham and his story on it all.

It's how his former boss (Warburton) ended up at my team, Rangers. Warburton thought Benham was going to far with the stats and wanted a bit more control over who they recruited.

Wasn't a falling out when he left but they parted ways largely due to seeing things going in a different direction.

Why was Beane so dismissive of the 20 wins in a row just because they lost the last game? 20 wins in a row in any sport is an amazing achievement. And at the time it was only the second time it had ever been done. That shit will be talked about for years, but he's hung up on the last game

At the end of the movie it said something along the lines of "Red Sox won the series two years after Beane turned them down using model the he pioneered" But didn't Peter pioneer it? He developed the concept before he even met Beane

And why did the Red Sox feel the need to use the model when they could afford to pay a GM 12.5million a year? Wasn't the point that they used it for the Athletics because they had limited funds?

Dumb question, but why do Baseball teams need a manager when the GM is the one building the team, and picking all the players to play in a specific system? If he's molding the team together what does the manager do?

I agree this is a wonderful movie.
