In the first movie, I'm pretty sure it's Santa Barbara at the end, on the waterfront, with the stone wall and palm trees. It may have been a southern california beach at the start of the 2nd movie, too. Perhaps they shot all 3 movies in a marathon run and did all the SoCal shots together.
