How was this movie allowed to be released?


Seeing as though it's exactly the sort of thing the US governement would and probably does do

It was just a remake of a British tv series from the mid 80s. So this kind of thing has been ongoing for a few years!

It was excellent, more subtle and believable than the movie - and it had an great score by Eric Clapton.

It's called Edge of Darkness (unsurprisingly).

Wow. Haven't seen many movies?

You should watch a few 80s action flicks. The Govt, CIA and FBI are almost always evil in those.

My memory is that it was rather unique in 1985. I re-watched it 10 years later and it didn't have near the same impact. In that ten years government/corporate suspect behavior had become more common story themes along with faster paced storytelling. Whistleblower and Defense of The Realm both from '86 are similarly themed and hold up very well today.
