I can still smell it!

The stench of burned rubber and cat pee. Robocop 2014's only lasting impression.

Why do you dislike Robocop 2014 so much?

reply

A. Terribly written.

B. The studio's first choice, Daren Aronofsky, Walked away when it became evident he would have no creative control. He was willing to fix this mess into something presentable. A lot of money and time had been wasted on this script, and the studio just wanted someone to turn out the product.

C. Enter the talented Brazilian newcomer Jose Padilha. He saw this as a monumental privilege. . . in the beginning. He wanted to start from scratch as well. Instead, the studio coerced him into making the film Aronofsky walked away from. The Brazilian director and cinematographer team did a great job with the little they were given. Though, having seen their previous projects. . . holy crap they should have let him redo everything. We missed out on the best remake anybody could have asked for. . . possibly twice now.

D. Do to reasons above the director hated the experience. His apathy does show on screen. So much droning boringness, and lackluster filler.

E. This movie missed the entire point. Murphy died in the original, lost everything he ever cared about, and awoke as a walking tank piloted by a tortured soul. In the remake Murphy didn't die. He was injured by a bomb. He woke up with a prosthetic body, and eventually got an adjustable lobotomy. . . right before he went off to solve his own murder (he actually says this), even though he never died. He was not a robot in this film. He was a man with a life support suit. . . just another generic Iron Man type superhero. . . except not that super.

F. So much more.

That was actually a really big answer, lol. I am glad you took the time to write all of that. You seem to know your movies.

Has everything that's happened, already happened? Should I stay exactly the same?

I've tried to write a review for this about a hundred times. Almost two years now, and that's the closest I've come to not writing a hate rant. LOL.

This really had every right and opportunity to be something special. Instead, the producers put ruffies in Robocop's baby food and rode him for fast and nasty gratification.

It depends. Do you feel more like you do now than you did a little while ago?

Lol. I know what you are talking about!

Did you come up with that on your own? If you did, you have a rapier wit.

And I get what you mean by "nasty." You might have high standards. I on the other hand, am easy to please, lol.

Lastly, that bit about change, is my signature Lol

Not really. I like many films most would consider sh!t. Honestly.

I know. I was just being goofy.

Lol! I know what you mean too! I love the movie oblivion. A lot of people probably hated that movie though.

What kind of Blank movies do you like? I might like them too. I am always looking for recommendations. I have rented movies before that people told me were good. I only did it twice. I was glad I rented them.
