Should have been more violent

This movie should have been more violent and R-rated. The director had all of these great themes in the film (free will, privatised state control, etc...) but without the violence there is no real consequence and nothing really at stake... these ideas are undermined...

Sad to see it so sanitised, especially when the Paul Verhoeven version was so much more intense and visceral. Neutering it didn't turn it into a multi-film Disney-esque franchise as I'm sure the studio were hoping for. Ironically, it seems that those type of comic book movies are heading to be more bloody with Logan receiving an R-rating, although that film doesn't have any of the adult and important themes that Robocop has... it was just sad, self-pittying and morose which is what passes for "deep" these days...

I couldn't find a word to describe this abomination until I read your post... 'neutered'.

They were trying to "Iron Man" Robocop... just with an actor with not even 1% of the charisma that RDJr has.

Watching this it feels like a product, they played it safe and released a PG-13 generic movie.

Yeah, they definitely tried to Iron Man it, so to speak... It could have been so much better if they just went for a proper Robocop movie...

Imagine how much more disturbing the middle east suppression scene would have been or Murphy's attempted assassination... Instead, it's cartoonish...

I saw this in the cinema when it came out, you could tell the director had it in him to make a very cinematic movie
