Man, HOLMES AND WATSON must have been a horrific attempt at a comedy, as I've never seen something starring Farrell get so skewered. I do believe that he's had his big moment though. Ever since hits like OLD SCHOOL and ANCHORMAN, his brand of comedy is not evolving but becoming stale. He also seems a bit insufferable.
shareSemi-Pro was his first big stinker for me. Strangely, one of his best, Step Brothers, came out the same year.
Talladega Nights was a stinker for me but others thought it classic, so I just said 'oh well, maybe I didn't get it.'
The Daddy's Home movies work.
Maybe this movie didn't end his career, but studios are going to be extra cafeful green lighting his projects in light of this.
