Mark Rylance's denture prosthetic was distracting
Otherwise, he did an okay job, as did Sally Hawkins and the rest of his family. I was surprised to learn at the end that it was based on a true story, which made me think, "What kind of a knothead was this guy to keep banging his head against a brick wall to achieve nothing?" It's nice to be a dreamer, but at some point you need to face reality and realize you're ruining the lives of your family with your antics.
As for the merits of the film, I give it a 6 rating. It wasn't as good as it sounded going in. Mark Rylance should stick to drama, which he excels at.
