Is it better than Conan with Jason Momoa?

Both films look quite similar, but I found Conan to be extremely terrible. This one, I'd watch only because The Rock is in it.

Conan is indeed terrible and Momoa (whom I like) is awful in the role.

This movie is extremely stupid and cliched but in a fun, self-aware way, and the Rock is excellent as Hercules. In fact, I'd say his performance in this movie almost makes up for Momoa being trash in Conan, somehow.

Thanks for your opinion :) I think I'll try watching Hercules some day then

The corn in my poop is better than Conan

I watched it for The Rock. I knew nothing but that it's a movie about Hercules who is played by the Rock. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the rest of the cast as well. And yes.. it's better than Conan. Why? Because the Rock actually has charisma. Momoa only got the Conan role because of his small part as Khal Drogo.

They're both unwatchable dreck...

yes they are both worth just one viewing with fast-fowarding here and there, not to say they are "bad" films just not what I had expected given Arnold's Conan portrayal or in this case Clash of the Titans.

Been a fan of Conan (the character) since I was younger and loved the books, comics and even the Arnold movies for what they were. But, lemme just say, that Conan movie with Jason Momoa was one of the worst big budget movies for me in recent memory. It had numerous delays probably due to massive script rewrites, I think like 4 writers are credited, two of whom are some of the biggest hacks in Hollywood. Momoa, who I am usually alright with maybe in supporting roles anyway, was absolutely awful in this film; it was a total phoned-in performance. The whole thing felt like a bad video game in my opinion. Go here, kill underboss, go to new location, kill next underboss, repeat ad nauseum until the final big boss - Khalar Zhim or whatever, the "Indian"/exotic named big bad guy played by white guy Stephen Dillane (likely cast because of "Avatar"). Everything about this movie aside from a few impressive visual FX was an absolute fail.

While "Hercules" isn't exactly an instant classic, at least it is entertaining and has good performances by some established actors. Better action, better script, better score... it's not even a contest really. The "Conan the Barbarian" redux that should be flushed away, never to watched again aside for CIA torture or something.
