This was better than Afterlife

This movie was not bad at all, and it was nice getting a fresh reboot of the Ghostbusters as a team. Afterlife didn't feel like Ghostbusters until the very end when it brought back Dan, Bill, and Winston. Ghostbusters (2016) felt more like Ghostbusters straight from the beginning because it featured 4 comedians and didn't try to be anything else except to acknowledge that it's an all women cast. Big effing deal. It was a fun movie, the end.

I OWN AND ENJOY BOTH...THAT SAID...2016 IS A TERRIBLE MESS OF A FILM...ENDLESS IMPROV HEAVY DIALOGUE,A WEAK PLOT AND A LOT OF COPY & PASTE ELEMENTS FROM THE ORIGINAL FILMS...AFTERLIFE IS A TOO DRAMATIC AND FEELS DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHER GHOSTBUSTER FILMS BUT JUDGED ON IT'S OWN MERITS IT IS A PRETTY GOOD FILM.

It's not a good movie but I might agree, on a certain level at least, that it felt more like Ghostbusters.

Afterlife was a little boring and also didn't feel much like a Ghostbusters film. Where it succeeded, however, was in being very respectful to the original films.

Afterlife was setting up a future franchise, and I think it took good steps to get there. It really needed some type of introduction to pass the tourch off, and it makes sense to keep it smaller and build towards something bigger for future films, which seems to be the case with frozen empire . The 2016 movie is really just a mess with no direction, and half of the cast is terrible.

The trailer for Frozen Empire looks bland and uninteresting to me, and the casting of Kumail is a real disappointment. Like Afterlife, it does not to me FEEL like Ghostbusters. Still, I'm sure I'll watch it at some point. Hopefully it won't be terrible.

and the casting of Kumail is a real disappointment.

WHY?...THAT DUDE IS AWESOME.

sadly, I think you might be right. it had some funny scenes and hemsworth was great.

i still think a re-edit could work wonders on this movie if they really shot as much footage as they said they did. whittle down the jokes and squeeze some more story in. assuming they shot any more story. doesn't even matter what it is. just needs to be less jokes! one punchline per setup is fine. you don't need four.

I really enjoyed this movie.
