Would have been better if it ended...

I can't help but think KFP2 would have had a stronger ending if they ended it the moment that Shen's ships got out into the harbour. They kept going on and on about how China would be lost if the ships made it out, then they do, and it turned out it was really no big deal at all.

If you ask me they should have ended it with Shen getting out into the harbour, with the five swimming ashore and watching helplessly; a feeling of doom in the air. That way you set up the 3rd film as a potracted campaign against Shen as he expands over China. He can even die the same way we see him die.

This way you also don't get the 'my son is alive' scene, which seemed like such a last minute cop out, and a scene I thought would have been much better if it were put near the start of a 3rd movie.
