#1 on Netflix

Very good show, slow doesn't automatically mean bad. Excellent story and will be coming back for season 2. If it was so bad, it wouldn't be #1.

Only truly new thing on Netflix right now, so capturing #1 isn't a high bar to clear. It isn't bad, but it isn't great. It is an average horror series that no one will remember ten years from now.

reply

it is strangely compelling.

Being a fan of H.P. Lovecraft and the Call of Cthulhu game/genre for decades, I thought it was very clever and rich in terms of plot lines, detail, and pulling it all together. I WAS surprised it was #1 on Netflix, because I do not think the show is "for everyone." Still, very pleased it will get a second season.

There was a video game called Eternal Darkness (2002) that is completely and utterly Lovecraft style. You can watch the play-through on Youtube, read the walk-through, or even play the game. Everybody who has played it remembers it forever, excellent game.

reply

Is it as slow as Midnight Mass? Because I didn't even finish that one.

reply

The action and plot lines (and many characters) start to ramp-up sharply in episode 4. Very nice build-up, and while I really like and appreciate the show, it is not for everyone.

reply

For the people who Midnight Mass were for, it was extremely satisfying. Loved it.

reply

Wow. You missed the best part of Midnight Mass. Patience will bring about satisfying conclusions. Sorry you weren't patient enough.

reply

Any lame, woke shit? I know it's Netflix after all but still.

reply

Not too woke. I am enjoying it.
