Came across as a parody of the late '70s - early '80s.

As soon as I saw the lawn darts in the credits, I knew this would be an "ironic" Millennial-created mockery of the time period. When I saw the scenes of Candy and her husband independently sincerely crooning along to a wretched song by David Soul, I knew this to be the case.

In the past, filmmakers tried to faithfully re-create past periods for movies and TV. Today, they try their best to parody them.

It's basically a collection of those Millennial memes and websites that show cringey, embarrassing pictures of 70s-80s fashions and trends. It has nothing but scorn and contempt for the people of that era, the victim of the murder included. I guess it's kind of a vengeance the Millennial creators are taking against their Boomer parents for raising them to be such shambolic adults.
