Why did they use a VCR and old cassette player? Was this set in the past
I was not sure if that was just supposed to show that the father never let anything new come into their environment or if this was set in a time when VCRs were current. Hmmm, think I've answered my own question. They had VCRs and old style cassette players when the children were born and in order to keep the environment controlled and always the same the father never updated the technology when DVDs/CDs/streaming became available.
