so do only kevin smith fanboys like this film?

i've enjoyed other kevin smith films, but i thought this one was terrible. so are there any watchers out there who liked this film but pretty much hated smith's other works like "clerks" or "clerks 2" or "chasing amy"?

I think even Kevin Smith fanboys (like myself) hated this movie.

that's good because... it just wasn't good.

and i love almost all other smith movies -- hell, even jersey girl had more to appreciate than this.

I've been an obsessive Kevin Smith fanboy for years. I even defended Jersey Girl, no matter how much crap I got for it. But not even my bias for everything Kevin Smith does could even come close to saving Cop Out. It's a depressingly bad movie without a single funny moment. I'm just holding out hope that Red State will make up for this one.

@vegetainsane got it right, I love all of the kevin smith movies but this one was just pure crap. I blame it on bruce willis, according to kevin; bruce really seemed to be working against the movie.

Never really cared for Kevin Smith movies so this wasn't exactly a let down for me. Having seen his other movies I was definitely suprised when discovered that he directed this (didn't know beforehand).

Cop Out has some parts that I like but overall it's pretty weak. This movie is just all over the place.

I'm usually a big fan of Kevin Smith's films but Cop Out was painful... just awful. I included it on my blog for the Worst Films of 2010, and it pained me to put it on there. cwyattfilm.blogspot.com/2011/01/worst-movies-of-2010.html

I loved Kevin Smiths works before this film and had NO clue that Smith directed this. I loved this movie though. I just thought it was very funny.

You cant take a spoofy cop comedy and expect it to have the drama of Heat. In the end it did a great job of showing how well Willis and Morgan play off of each other.

Maybe it would've been a better film if Kevin wrote it. Say what you want but the guy is a genius with dialogue. I think alot of slag got heaped on Kev on this movie for all the wrong reasons. You win some, you lose some.

nope I'm a big Kevin Smith fan but this movie was just very bad and disappointing.
