Just saw this movie last night

Got it from Netflix, meant to see it sooner as the entire concept sounded great to me and I wish I HAD seen it sooner. I'm guessing the script originally wasn't meant as an homage to 80s buddy cop films but the way it was directed and tweaked sure gave it that feel. Right down to Harold Faltermeyer doing the music! I just don't get all the trashing of it, especially from people that never even saw it "Well, the trailer sucked, I think Kevin Smith sucks, therefore, the movie sucks, I don't need to see it!". I mean really, I thought Avatar was a terrible idea and from what I have heard its basically Pocahontas in outer space. However, I won't say its a terrible movie as I never saw it, no interest either.

I'm wondering if people are already trashing "Red State" this badly. For those who don't know, that's the film Kevin Smith just started filming this week.

I saw it and personally I did not like it. There didn't seem to be any chemistry between the actors and I thought all the acting was pretty flat. I had higher expectations with the cast and they let me down.

I'm not always a big fan of Kevin Smith films and found Zack and Miri kind of muddled without a good ending but Cop Out is pure win. I thought Dogma was pretty brilliant too.

Very boring movie.

I liked it.
I thought it was just a generally fun, movie. Obviously it wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

I liked the bit at the beginning where Hodges (morgan) does a John McClane impression (or at least just the quote) and Monroe (Bruce Willis) goes:
"I don't know where that's from".

Or something similar to that effect. I think everyone gets the joke and knows that Willis played McClane in the Diehard movies.
